A group of top chefs will prepare meals in this exciting cook-off. Ashley Dokter-Mosotho (ASH at Diemersfontein) and Caro Alberts (chef, food stylist and presenter of Koskaskenades) will be the MCs, while Lize Mynhardt will perform and Doug Gurr will be the auctioneer. Stellenbosch: Die ledevergadering van die STELLENBOSSE HEEMKRING word om 19:00 in die konferensiekamer van die NG kerk Stellenbosch-Wes gehou. Die spreker is dr. Phillip Louw (regs), hoofredakteur en uitvoerende direkteur van die Woordeboek van die Afrikaanse Taal (WAT). Die onderwerp is “Die WAT op pad na die volgende honderd jaar”. Die WAT is die mees omvattende woordeboek van Afrikaans. Die bespreking sluit in ‘n kort, geskiedkundige oorsig van die eerste eeu van die WAT; sy rol as omvattende woordeboek; ‘n verduideliking oor hoe die WAT van ‘n standaardwoordeboek soos die HAT verskil; ‘n blik op hoe die WAT saamgestel word (vanaf materiaalversameling tot die skryf van die woorde­boekartikels); en toekomsplanne vir die WAT. Somerset West: The REACH FOR RECOVERY breast cancer support will hold a free talk by specialist surgeon Dr Dewald Coolen on “The role of robotics in breast cancer surgery”.
