The Stellenbosch Madrigal Singers presents its year-end concert, There and Back Again, at the Stellenbosch-Welgelegen Dutch Reformed church in Buitekring Road, Dalsig on Sunday 8 November at 15:30.
We have all been on journeys, across oceans, through seasons, along the unexpected turns that shape a life. And music has always been one of the oldest and most trusty companions on these roads.
There and Back Again takes the audience on just such a journey, across centuries, continents and cultures, and brings one gently home again in just over an hour.
From the playful songs of Renaissance England to a traditional isiXhosa prayer, from a Finnish folk melody to beloved Afrikaans hymns, the programme has something for everyone.
Join the Stellenbosch Madrigal Singers for a relaxing afternoon of a capella music that asks nothing of guests; no passport, no luggage, no long road ahead, just an open ear and the willingness to be transported.
Tickets, at R150 each, can be bought online through Quicket or at the door. Refreshments will also be available for a donation.
