Coverage across provinces
The digital tool anchors the most ambitious joint election coverage initiative ever undertaken by the three platforms.
For the first time, NovaNews, Die Papier and Nuuspod are pooling their full reporting resources to deliver uninterrupted, multi-language election coverage across live streaming, digital reporting and on-the-ground journalism throughout election day.
With reporters deployed across multiple provinces, the collaboration ensures that audiences nationwide receive timely, trusted election coverage in their preferred language and format:
Nuuspod, hosted by Izak du Plessis and South Africa’s leading Afrikaans news podcast on the Afrikaans.Radio platform, will stream continuous live election updates and analysis throughout the day.
The live feed will be embedded directly on both NovaNews and Die Papier websites.
This historic collaboration represents a commitment to democracy, transparency, and accessible journalism – ensuring every South African can follow their local government elections as they happen, without barriers.
