It was a blooming marvellous weekend at Vergelegen, where visitors explored the estate’s International Camellia Garden of Excellence on Saturday (1 August) as vibrant pink, white and red camellias put on a spectacular show in full bloom.

The Somerset West estate’s garden is one of only 39 such gardens worldwide and the sole representative in Africa. It boasts more than 550 different species, including Vergelegen’s very own cultivated varieties. The garden was opened for public viewing on Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August, with guided tours offered on both days.
