More than a month after she was last seen, the search for missing Somerset West woman Rika Norris remains active.
The 60-year-old was last seen at approximately 10:00 on Saturday 23 May, when she set out for a walk at Lourensford Farm in Somerset West and did not return (“Authorities search for missing Somerset West woman,” DistrictMail & Helderberg Gazette, 25 May).
Her disappearance was reported the following day (Sunday 24 May), prompting an immediate search operation that has continued since.
She was wearing navy blue skipants and a multicoloured long-sleeve top when last seen and reports suggest she was accompanied by her dog at the time of her disappearance.
Despite ongoing efforts involving local police and various role-players, no trace of Norris has been found.
Upon enquiry this week, police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that the matter remains under investigation. “The search and investigations continue. There are no new developments to report at this stage,” he said.
