The Charles Morkel Stadium was buzzing with rugby action as Helderberg RFC successfully hosted its 7s Tournament on Saturday 17 October.

The tournament brought together 16 teams for a day of exciting fast-paced rugby, sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The event was a great success, with all participating teams contributing to the positive atmosphere and displaying discipline both on and off the field.

Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) Rugby emerged as the cup winners, while Macassar RFC secured third place. Forward Legends claimed the Plate title after an impressive performance.

Helderberg extended its sincere gratitude to all participating teams, coaches, managers, officials, supporters and everyone who contributed to making the tournament a memorable occasion.

Attention now turns to another exciting chapter of club rugby, as Charles Morkel Stadium prepares to host the Western Province Club 7s Competition over the next three consecutive Saturdays – 24 October, 31 October and 7 November.

Hoërskool Strand will also make its fields available to accommodate the competition. The event promises to be a major highlight on the WP rugby calendar, bringing clubs from different competition leagues together to compete, showcase their talent and celebrate the spirit of club rugby.

Helderberg RFC looks forward to welcoming teams, officials and supporters to the Strand community for what promises to be a spectacular few days of rugby action.
