Veteran South African entertainer Terry Fortune will be the guest at the next Pringle Proms event, hosted by travel and food writer Brian Berkman in Pringle Bay on Saturday 13 June.
The lunchtime event, which is limited to just 16 guests, forms part of Berkman’s food-focused cultural concert series, which presents leading South African artists in an intimate, home-based setting. Previous guests have included Pieter-Dirk Uys, David Kramer, Ina Paarman and, most recently, classical guitarist James Grace.
Fortune, born Tyrone Robertson in Cape Town, created his stage persona in 1971 and has enjoyed a career spanning cabaret, musical theatre and live performance both locally and abroad.
His credits include Kramer and Taliep Petersen’s District Six – The Musical, performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and appearances at the independence celebrations of Mozambique and Namibia.

In 2021 he received the kykNET Fiëstas Lifetime Achievement Award for more than 50 years of contribution to South African entertainment.
Berkman will conduct a live interview with Fortune before the performer takes to song.
A buffet lunch and beverages are included in the ticket price, and guests take their own wine.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kleinmond Animal Welfare Society, a registered NPO providing shelter, veterinary care and rehoming services to animals along the Overberg coast since 2001.
Pringle Proms – An Afternoon with Terry Fortune takes place at 1332 Edward Road, Pringle Bay, at noon.
- Tickets are R450 per person and include a buffet lunch and beverages. Capacity is strictly limited to 16 guests.
