Somerset West became a hub of empowerment as Resilience Pathways for Women and Children (RPWC) hosted its fourth annual event, “Bouncing Back from Adversity Part 2”, at Hope and Light School hall on Saturday 14 March.
The NPO, founded by Pamela Siziba and dedicated to advancing gender equality, entrepreneurship and leadership development, previously held “Bouncing Back from Adversity” at the same venue in November last year where guests explored how faith and community create pathways to renewal and empowerment.
Earlier this month, 53 women from various walks of life once again gathered to address key themes including using adversity as training for ministry and developing frameworks for overcoming setbacks.
Eight speakers — including pastors, coaches and business leaders — delivered messages on resilience, forgiveness, discovering God-given purpose and supporting each other through life’s challenges.

The power of transformation came alive through testimonials such as that of Moline Mari, who left her low-paying job to start a crèche with just two children.
Through perseverance, the pre-school now serves 80 children. The event concluded with women equipped to transform personal struggles into empowerment opportunities while building a supportive community for spiritual, emotional and professional growth.
