Cape Town man arrested in 25-year-old woman’s fatal stabbing

Entle Manzi (25)

A 24-year-old man from Cape Town is currently facing a murder charge following the death of his ex-girlfriend. Entle Manzi (25), the victim, was stabbed to death.

Sgt Wesley Twigg, police spokesperson, said Parow police had registered a murder case for investigation following the stabbing on Monday 30 March in Mark Street, Parow Valley.

Women for Change, an organisation advocating against gender-based violence and femicide, shared the news of Manzi’s death in its social media.

According to its information she had visited the accused on the day of the incident at his residence, when he allegedly assaulted and stabbed her to death. “We are heartbroken by the loss of yet another beautiful soul. When is enough enough?”

Twigg said the circumstances surrounding the incident were under investigation and confirmed a 24-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the murder. The suspect, Mihlali Tuoane, has since appeared in the Parow Magistrates’ Court.

The Parow Community Policing Forum (CPF) said it was deeply saddened by the tragic killing. “This senseless act of violence has left a community in mourning and once again highlights the ongoing crisis of violence, particularly against women,” said Bronwin Daniels, CPF chair. “The CPF condemns this in the strongest possible terms.”

A case has been opened with the police, she said, and the matter remained under active investigation.

“We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and neighbours of Entle,” Daniels said. “No family should have to endure such a devastating loss.

“We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist the police as they work to bring justice in this matter.”

TygerBurger was still awaiting comment from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
