Saints crowned league winners in fiercely contested hockey final

BLOEMFONTEIN – A week after being crowned South Africa’s number one squash team, another team of the St Andrew’s School are celebrating a big victory.

The St Andrew’s School’s first hockey team was crowned the Bloemfontein League Champions after a thrilling 2 – 1 victory over the Hoërskool Jim Fouché.

This was certainly a good season for these two hockey teams and a final to prove just that.

In the fiercely contested encounter, both teams displayed tremendous skill, determination and fighting spirit. With the match finely balanced, St Andrew’s held their nerve when it mattered most, securing the decisive goal and sealing a memorable victory.

The result marks a proud achievement for the St Andrew’s hockey programme and is a testament to the dedication, discipline and hard work of the players and coaching staff throughout the season.

The team’s ability to perform under pressure and maintain their composure in such a closely fought match ultimately proved decisive. The final whistle sparked celebrations as St Andrew’s players, coaches and supporters celebrated an outstanding league triumph.
