St Andrew’s Bloemfontein has been crowned the 2026 Free State Hockey Champions after a memorable day of cup final success, with the school claiming both the U14 and U19 Free State Cup titles.

The final was played on the Saints Astro on Saturday 22 August.

The U14 side produced a convincing performance in the final, overcoming Witteberg High School to secure the title in impressive fashion.

Their dominant display capped a superb campaign and underlined their status as one of the province’s leading schoolboy teams.

The U19s were equally impressive when it mattered most, defeating Trio High School 3 – 1 in a composed and determined final performance.

The victory sealed the senior cup title and sparked celebrations as St Andrew’s completed a remarkable double title victory.

In the U16 competition, Grey College won their section against Trio.

With Cup victories at U14 and U19 level, St Andrew’s can proudly celebrate being crowned the Free State Champions for 2026 – a tremendous achievement that reflects the talent, commitment and hard work of the players and coaching staff.
