An athlete who hails from Bloemfontein, Angelica de Freitas (19), excelled during her first participation in an international fitness and bodybuilding competition.

De Freitas, of the Word Fitness Federation South Africa (WFFSA), competed in the WFF All Africa Championship on Saturday 3 October in Ghana.

She took first place in the Ladies’ Warrior Division, second place in the Ladies’ Sport Model Division, and a well deserved third place in the Ms Glamour Division.

The team to Ghana was led by Bloemfontein’s Hende-Mari Strydom, president of the WFF South Africa and Africa, and Desré de Freitas, team manager for the WFFSA.

The championship brought together fitness athletes and representatives from across the African continent, with competitors having the opportunity to showcase their dedication, discipline, strength, and commitment to the sport.
