The Odeion String Quartet proudly celebrates its 35th anniversary this year with a special evening offering of passion, heritage and mastery.
Established in 1991, it is a flagship of the University of the Free State’s (UFS) commitment to the arts. Join the Odeion String Quartet in Concert on Thursday 23 April at 19:00 at the Odeion Auditorium.

Marking more than three decades of musical excellence, the anniversary programme reflects both the quartet’s deep roots in South African music and its commitment to the great chamber works of the international repertoire.
The quartet will be joined by acclaimed guest artists Siphokazi Maphumulo and Megan-Geoffrey Prins, whose artistry will add depth and brilliance to this celebratory occasion.
This milestone concert offers audiences a rich and moving journey, from evocative South African narratives to the sweeping Romanticism of Dvorák, honouring the quartet’s legacy while looking ahead to its future.
