St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, is immensely proud to announce that five of our debaters have been selected to represent Pietermaritzburg at the upcoming KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Debating Tournament.
Congratulations to:
- Elihle Hloba – Vice Captain (Form 5)
- Lwandile Gwala (Form 5)
- Zenande Mazibuko – Captain (Form 5)
- Veer Bhagwan (Form 3)
- Sihole Nkosi (Form 3)
Provincial selection is one of the highest honours a school debater can achieve. To be recognised among the strongest debaters in the region is a testament to the boys’ commitment, discipline, and skill throughout the season.
This tournament offers an exciting opportunity. Rather than competing solely with their school teammates, our boys will join learners from across Pietermaritzburg to form provincial teams. Together, they will face the best young speakers in KwaZulu-Natal. They will also make an invaluable experience and forge friendships with peers who share their passion for debate.
Their selection is also a proud reflection of St Charles College’s thriving debating programme. Having five boys chosen across both senior and junior divisions underscores the strength of our teams and the dedication of the students and coaches who have nurtured their success.
We warmly congratulate Elihle, Lwandile, Zenande, Veer, and Sihole on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to following their journey in Durban and are confident they will represent both Pietermaritzburg and St Charles College with distinction. — Mrs Saiuri Naidoo, Head of Debating
