Fire crews of CapeNature and the Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) are currently attending to a fire that broke at Du Toitskloof Pass on Friday (6 February).

Jo-Anne Otto, spokesperson for the CWDM, confirmed the fire that is currently still active.

“The CWDM Fire Crews are on scene. They have performed a backburn to try and shorten the fire line. It may look alarming at this stage, but teams are monitoring the situation very carefully.”

Otto says there is currently no property in danger. It has been a busy month for firefighters of CapeNature and CWDM as several fires broke out and raged throughout the district.
