Experience the natural life! Wolseley and Breërivier are nestled in the picturesque Cape Winelands. Situated 14 km from Tulbagh, 15 km from Ceres, 40 km from Worcester and 1 ½ hours drive from Cape Town, they are very accessible to visitors. Visitors can get to the area via any one of four scenic passes, the Nuwekloof, Bainskloof, Du Toitskloof and Michell’s Pass.
Surrounded by the majestic Waaihoek, Witzen and Waterval mountains, which are often covered by a blanket of snow in the winter, Wolseley and Breërivier offer clear rivers & agricultural vistas with fruit, vegetables, wine, olives, wheat, sheep and cattle.
Situated on a natural watershed that divides the Dwars River into the Berg River, which drains towards the West Coast and the Breede River, which drains towards the South-East, Wolseley has much to offer for the visitor to enjoy & explore.
Visit the well-kept historical Wolseley Blockhouse, dating from the Anglo Boer War (1901), see fruit-packing & try fig picking during the season, experience, explore & enjoy mountain biking routes, hiking trails, horse trails, fresh water fishing, bird watching, family activities, local home crafts, scenic drives, restaurants and wine and olive tastings.
Accommodation can be found throughout the Valley on surrounding working farms including self-catering, camping, caravan sites and B&B’s. Conference venues are available & for that special occasion, the beauty of the area is complemented by stunning Wedding venues.
We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Valley, a place we proudly call “home”!
