Haseenah Khan, a Grade 11 learner at Worcester Gymnasium, has recently been selected for the Boland Senior Women’s Cricket Team.
Her selection comes on the back of some really good performances for Boland in the under-19 age group. She represented Boland in the CSA under-19 girls national tournament during December where she notched up some outstanding performances.
Khan made her debut for Boland against Eastern Province at St George’s Park in Gqeberha.
“My inclusion came as a big surprise. The step up from school cricket to the senior setup is huge. There is no room for error. I love the intensity and competitiveness, though,” Khan says.
Her remarkable achievement stems from her love and passion for the game. According to Khan, all the hard work over the past few years has now paid off. She has been included in the Boland Women’s team that will be playing against Border Women at Boland Park in Paarl on Saturday.
