On Saturday 11 May the Nuy Valley came alive with the sounds of laughter, live music and the clinking of glasses as visitors immersed themselves in a day of festivities. From craft beer to gin tastings, the festival offered something delicious for everyone to enjoy.

For wine enthusiasts the festival offered a unique opportunity to indulge in tastings of the region’s acclaimed wines, showcasing the rich diversity and quality that the Nuy Valley is renowned for.

Likewise, olive-oil lovers could enjoy special tastings at sampling sessions of premium olive products, highlighting the craftsmanship and dedication of local producers.

One of the highlights of the event was the Nuy Valley Express, a charming tractor-wagon ride that meandered through the vineyards and olive groves, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Families delighted in this journey, soaking in the beauty of the valley while enjoying the company of loved ones.

“It’s wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate our shared heritage and the fruits of our labour,” remarked Johan van der Merwe, a local winemaker participating in the festival.

“Events like these not only showcase the quality of our wines and olive products but also foster a sense of friendship among residents and visitors alike.” Reflecting on the day, Miranda Zawukana remarked: “The Nuy Valley Festival is a labour of love, made possible by the dedication and passion of our local community. I am thrilled to have attended this on my birthday, and I look forward to coming every year.”

As the sun set on another unforgettable day in the Nuy Valley, visitors departed with hearts full of memories and bottles filled with the finest wines and olive products the region has to offer.
