Homebrewed talent Hiiippy Van, a hip hop super rap group from Worcester, wants to take the town by storm.
The group was formed five years ago and consists of trio Reginald Pekeur known as Ruffael, Marshall Mojo Pekeur and Eduard Eazy Beukes, two of whom are producers and beat makers.
Tell Somebody, one of their songs, is a mix of laid-back chimes and head bopping beats accompanied by self written lyrics. They recently dropped their first mixtape called 5Yrs In Da MaKING and also have a registered music entertainment company called Hiiippy Life Entertainment.
The story behind the name of the group Hiiippy Van is “to unite people through our music and let everyone party together no matter what our differences are.”
Their trippy trap music lends a unique laid back turn up sound for those who love to party.
Inspiration comes from many local and international acts, not only in Hip Hop but other genres too and their own life experiences.
“We are music creators with a mutual goal, to be masters in the Hip Hop music world and to do what we love everyday.
We want to take the country by storm and be leaders in African entertainment,” the group says.
Catch them at Expression Session at the Klein Theatre on the last Thursday of this month where they will be performing some of the tracks off their mixtape. Entrance is free.
Hiiippy Life Entertainment will also host a hip hop rap concert called Hiiippy Night on 30 September at the indoor sport centre (behind club 925). They will be headlining the event, together with NuVader and Doodskoot who will be opening. The show starts at 20:00 and cover charge is R20 at the door.
