HOOPSTAD — The police have arrested a 28-year-old woman after she allegedly fatally stabbed her 41-year-old boyfriend with a broken beer bottle during a domestic dispute at a local tavern.
Fatal altercation
On Saturday, 22 November, at approximately 01:10, police conducting patrol duties were alerted to a stabbing incident at a tavern in the Tikwana location. Officers rushed to the scene and discovered a foreign national male lying near the gate in a pool of blood.

The alleged perpetrator was found kneeling beside the victim, attempting to stem the bleeding from his wound. Emergency medical services were summoned, but the victim was declared dead at the scene.
Details of the incident
According to information gathered at the scene, the couple had engaged in an argument inside the tavern. Both the suspect and victim subsequently moved outside, where the dispute escalated into physical violence.
It is alleged that the suspect broke a beer bottle and stabbed her boyfriend in the area above his left shoulder. The makeshift weapon proved fatal, resulting in the victim’s death from his injuries.
