Sea Harvest Health Run here!

The Sea Harvest Foundation Health Run is set to take place this weekend on Saturday 20 June.

Kicking off at Weskus Skool Saldanha, there is much excitement among organisers and participants.

Participants will be taking part in the the 5 km, 10 km, and half-marathon distances, with all routes offering stunning sea views. Organisers say the scenic coastal setting is one of the highlights of the event and is expected to provide an enjoyable experience for runners of all fitness levels.

As for motorists road closures and delays will be along Main Road, Saldanha Road and Diaz Road. Motorists are urged to plan their journeys.

Residents in Saldanha and surrounding areas are asked to be courteous to all participants and to exercise patience while runners are on the route.

Parking

The main parking area for the event will be at Weskus Skool, with parking available inside the school grounds. Overflow parking will be provided at the Transnet Rugby Stadium.

Participants

As the run will start early, participants are urged to arrive as early as possible to allow sufficient time for registration, parking, and pre-race preparations.

While registration is largely closed, a limited number of entries for the 5 km race will still be available through pre-registration at Franks Garden and Home, located on the corner of Camp and Main Road near the BP fuel station.

Participants are reminded to arrive well hydrated and to dress warmly if weather conditions require it.

Public safety

A comprehensive safety plan has been implemented for the event. Security, police and law enforcement officers will be on duty throughout the day to ensure the safety of runners, spectators, and residents.

Approximately 100 marshals, volunteers, and emergency personnel will also be deployed across the event to assist participants and help manage operations.

Leonie Vorster, one of the organisers, gives a sincere thanks to all residents particularly the ones who are going to be directly involved and look forward to the day ahead.

They also expressed gratitude to the community for its support. “A sincere thank you to all local residents, particularly those who will be directly involved in the event. Your support and cooperation are greatly appreciated and play an important role in making the day a success.”
