West Coast College recently presented its current initiatives and future development plans at the West Coast District Municipality Council Chambers in Moorreesburg.
The college was invited to address the West Coast District Coordinators Forum, which brought Mayors and Municipal Managers from across the district together.
The delegation from West Coast College included the principal Lungisa Mbulawa, Samantha Burger, the acting deputy principal: Finance, and Nomathemba Dapula, the deputy principal: Academic.
Following the presentation André Truter, Mayor of Saldanha Bay, commended the college: “We would like to commend you on your presentation and say that your college is a pocket of excellence.”
Municipal leaders and district representatives expressed strong support for the college and emphasised the importance of continued collaboration.
They noted that more frequent engagements between municipalities and the college are essential for strengthening skills development and supporting sustainable economic growth across the West Coast District.
Mbulawa welcomed the feedback, saying, they appreciate the encouragement received from the municipalities and welcome the call for increased engagement that will help drive skills development, job creation and economic growth.
“Not only within the district, but in the province and the country.”
The college remains committed to providing relevant and responsive skills training that supports the economic development needs of the West Coast region.
