Police need help from members of the public in finding and arresting the perpetrators involved in several unsolved cases.
Among these are a 20-year-old male who was fatally shot and a friend of his who was wounded, and police were seeking three males involved in the shooting.
On 14 April 2022, at 22:00, the victim was sitting with friends at a house in Phlox Street, Protea Park in Atlantis when three unknown males shot the two men. According to police, the man succumbed to a gunshot wound, while the friend was wounded in the leg.
In another incident, on 13 February 2022, at 07:20, at Eagles Nest, Dura Park, the victim was on the front steps of his home, about to leave, when two unknown males approached and shot at him, and he succumbed to his gunshot wound.
In another murder, on 12 February 2022 at 21:20, the victim was sitting in the street at Bloukrans Avenue when two males jumped from a silver vehicle, approached and shot him multiple times.
On 20 February 2022 at 00:10 two males were standing in a yard at Palmer Lane, Avondale when two unknown males approached and shot them. Both succumbed to their wounds.

Emile Sampson and Jessey Marcus Marthinus, on Friday 16 December 2022 at 01:55, suffered the same fate. They were outside Lakesman Close, Avondale, Atlantis when approached by gunmen who opened fire. On Saturday 2 April 2022, about 23:00, 25-year-old Amanda Nkamisa was stabbed multiple times on the corner of Sipungo and Mgxam streets, Witsand in front of house NH1154. She later died at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. In another incident, on 12 August 2023 at 04:15, Richard Walters (33) was found lying in Palmer Avenue, Avondale, in front of Parkview Primary School, with multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
