Moferefere Lazaras Mfono a resident of Gelukwaarts, Maokeng, Kroonstad have been missing since 8 June.

A huge concern has gripped the community of Maokeng, Kroonstad, as the police continue their search for 59-year-old Moferefere Lazaras Mfono, who has been missing since the beginning of June.

The police is urging anyone with information about Mfono’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in bringing him home safely after he went missing on Sunday, 8 June.

Mfono, a resident of Gelukwaarts, Maokeng, was last seen sitting in front of his house, wearing a maroon polo-neck jersey and blue jeans torn at the knees. Police are working tirelessly to locate him. The police say Mfono suffers from a mental illness, which may make him more vulnerable and in need of urgent assistance.

They are appealing to anyone who may have information, no matter how small it may seem, to contact them immediately. Sgt Kumalo can be reached at 073 900 4892, or contact the nearest police station. As the search for Mfono continues, the SAPS is urging the community to remain vigilant and to keep an eye out for him, who may be in need of medical attention or assistance.
