A 25-year-old man from Kestell who was arrested for the murder of a two-year-old was expected to appear before the Kestell Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 10 June.
According to police, the man, who is the boyfriend of the toddler’s 21-year-old mother, assaulted the child for soiling his pants on Wednesday. On Thursday the child was taken to the local clinic, where he was declared dead.
“As parents, we should take responsibility for protecting our children and report abuse,” says WO Mmako Mophiring, police spokesperson.
