A situation that could have led to a cash-in-transit heist on Wednesday, 23 October, was successfully addressed by the police and relevant stakeholders in Bethlehem.
At about 10:00 on this day, a branded armored vehicle arrived at a cash-in-transit depot in town. Depot staff, however, became suspicious and reported the matter. The vehicle was found to not be one of this company’s vehicles, and the police were summoned.
With constant communication and maximum deployment of resources from police units and the private company itself, augmented by members of the Tactical Response team, the Visible Policing unit and detectives, the heist was thwarted.
Four suspects aged between 43 and 52 were arrested.
