Police in Harrismith have launched a search for a 36-year-old woman who was reported missing after she and her infant daughter disappeared from their home.

According to police, Ané Pienaar was last seen on Friday 13 February. Her partner reportedly left for work that morning, leaving Pienaar at home with their 11-month-old baby girl.

Upon his return later that day, he discovered that both Pienaar’s and the baby’s clothing were gone and the house key was found placed in a window.

The matter was reported to the police on Sunday 15 February.

Authorities have since appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the missing woman and her child. Police have encouraged community members to come forward with any information that may help ensure the safe return of Pienaar and her daughter.
