David Moshesh, founder and owner of the recycling company called BigMalaisha in Thabong, along with a group of community members tackled a cleaning and awareness campaign around the Thabong Community Hall. “But to our disappointment we were forced to improvise and although our campaign was ultimately successful, we were denied usage of the Thabong Community Hall during the event. We had to stay outside and could not even use the bathroom facilities. Most of the attendees who were denied the use of the toilets are senior citizens. The gates were locked, so we could not make use of the toilets nor drink water. We even had lunch outside the hall, sitting in the sand. Prior to the event we had arranged to use the hall, but this was ignored,” says Moshesh.
