Lebogang Senior Secondary School in Thabong will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a four-day event from 23 to 26 September.

The school, founded in 1966, is one of the oldest schools in Thabong. Several build-up events will precede the main four-day anniversary celebrations.

The celebrations will include former and current learners, retired and current teachers, community leaders and businesses associated with the school.

Lebogang Secondary School has contributed to educational and social development in and around the township of Thabong in Welkom. The school has produced community leaders, businessmen and professionals in various fields.

Notable alumni include Welkom businessman Reggie Mmutsi, the late actress Mme Connie Chiume, who starred in Black Panther, Gomora and Rhythm City, and Molefi Ntseki, former professional soccer coach of Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana.

The organising committee has introduced commemorative T-shirts as part of the celebrations.
