A dance team from the Mega Fitness Dance Club in Kutlwanong won 17 trophies and seven medals at the Gauteng Super Series in Boksburg in April.

Six dancers competed in beginner to championship level sections in the Latin and theatre categories.

The dancers are Maya Xalabile (seven), Keeditse Mosala, Princess Talafala, Nadia Mathe, Ishmael Makolotsa and Oneo Molisalife (12). Assistant coach Paul Maoela supported the team during the competition.

They want to dance in Natal

The team now aims to compete in the KwaZulu-Natal Super Series in Durban on 11 July. The competition will assist the dancers to qualify for selection to represent South Africa at an overseas competition in 2027.

The dancers are Maya Xalabile, Keeditse Mosala, Princess Talafala, Nadia Mathe, Ishmael Makolotsa and Oneo Molisalife.

The club faces financial challenges as it has no sponsorship and dancers rely on their parents for funding. The team requires funds for accommodation and transport to travel to KZN in July.
