ODENDAALSRUS – A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 40-year-old foreign national in Kutlwanong, Odendaalsrus, in the early hours of Sunday.
Argument at house party turns deadly
Police were summoned to a stabbing incident in K9, Kutlwanong, at approximately 1.30am on Sunday, 13 September 2026.
On arrival, officers were directed to a man lying motionless on the ground. He had sustained multiple stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
According to police, an argument allegedly broke out between the suspect and the victim during a house party. The suspect reportedly accused the victim of having an affair with his wife.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene.
Suspect arrested at home
Police traced the suspect to his home, where he was arrested shortly after the incident.
The 44-year-old is expected to appear before the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.
