A Meloding woman (29) and a female police officer she conspired with to defraud a man of R15 000 have both been arrested for extortion. The woman allegedly worked with a female police officer to demand money from the man so that a registered rape case she had made against him could be cancelled.

The body of Kelebohile Kototsa (12) was found in a decomposing state in the Vet River on Tuesday (22/03). The child drowned during a sangoma ritual performed in this river on 13 March. Four men were also swept away by the water and drowned while trying to save her.
