House of Hope, which opened its doors on 4 June 2004 at 226 Stateway in Bedelia, is celebrating 22 years of service to the community, and from the get-go Vista has been walking the path with them.

Dr Jackie Botes, director of House of Hope says that looking back over more than two decades, the organisation remains deeply grateful for the grace, support and favour that have carried its work through the years.

Botes says the foundation of House of Hope‘s work has long been rooted in faith, with Psalm 27:10 holding special meaning for the team – When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. “Over the years, that message has been reflected in the care given to 803 babies who have been housed at the baby home,” she says.

Beyond its work with children, House of Hope has also reached countless people through presentations at schools, churches and community events. These moments of engagement have touched the lives of many teenagers and families, whether through a visit to the baby home or by taking part in one of the organisation’s outreach programmes. As House of Hope marks this milestone, the organisation has expressed thanks to the wider community for its ongoing support over the past 22 years. “While it may not be possible to thank every person individually, the message remains clear: the journey has been made possible through the compassion, generosity and encouragement of many people who have stood alongside the home,” she says.

The community can diarise the organisation’s AGM, which will take place on 3 September at NVR (Neumann and Van Rooyen Attorney’s) in Heeren Steet, at 16:00. Botes says House of Hope recently held a strategic planning meeting with the board, and the upcoming gathering is expected to be a meaningful highlight on the organisation’s calendar.
