The Lejweleputswa Darts Association will represent Matjhabeng at the South African Darts Championship in Bellville, Cape Town, from 11 July to 18 July.

The team of 10 players, along with team managers and reserves, faces costs exceeding R60 000 for the trip. To raise funds, the association is hosting The Fun Family Carnival on Saturday 6 June at Rovers Club in Tempest Road, Welkom.

The men’s team are Peter van Niekerk, Kevin Olivier, Phillip de Bruyn, William Fitzgerald, Ludick Smith and Barend

Spies, with Dave Saai-man as team manager. The women’s team are Mandy van Zyl, Tanja Meintjes, Cherzet Herbst and Simonè Meintjes. Niolien Smith manages the team, with Roxy van Niekerk as assistant team manager.

The carnival will feature games, prizes, food and music. Donations of merchandise, toys, gifts, vouchers, hampers, sweets, juices or cash to use as prizes are welcomed. To contribute, contact the association before the event.
