ABAHLOBO Cricket Club in KwaNobuhle has begun to make major inroads in the development of cricket among junior players.

The club, led by chairman Luvuyo Mtati, managed in the past two cricket seasons to develop players for both Eastern Province as well as the Uitenhage District teams.

Junior cricket players from four primary schools in KwaNobuhle benefit from the club’s cricket development. These schools are Melumzi, Magqabi, Hombakazi and Phakamile.

“The past season, the club finished the highest ever in a league, when we ended joint second in the Eastern Province Cricket Association’s first league division,” said Sindile Bungane, one of the Cricket South Africa accredited coaches of the club.

The cricket club’s annual prizegiving was held last weekend at LoveLife Centre in Kwa- Nobuhle and it coincided with Abahlobo’s 10th anniversary.
