Motorists who need to settle outstanding fines and warrants or just have a query regarding a road-traffic infringement are invited to attend the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Fine Roadshow in Parow.

To take place daily from 12 to 19 September at the Parow Civic Centre in Tallent Road, it will bring the Traffic Services, the Revenue Department, municipal court representatives and other internal departments together at a single service point, the City said.

The officials will be able to assist with traffic-fine and -warrant enquiries, applications for fine reductions, payment and finalisation of fines and warrants, assist and guide with admission-of guilt fines, depending on the status of the fine and the removal of warrant administration marks on final payment of outstanding warrants.

Attendees asked to be patient

“These roadshows offer a win for all involved,” JP Smith, Mayco member for Safety and Security, pointed out. “The public can finalise fines and warrants at a single service point, saving them the trouble of multiple visits to different municipal courts. The benefit for the City is that we get to make a dent in the massive backlog of outstanding fines and the associated administration.

“Experience has taught us that these roadshows are incredibly popular, so I do want to encourage those planning to attend to please be patient. All you need when joining the queue is your ID. If you are making representations on behalf of another person, you will also need an affidavit from them, confirming this, and a copy of their ID.”

The roadshow opens daily at 08:30.
