A man believed to be a witness in a court case was stabbed multiple times and handcuffed by his attackers in what is suspected by sources to be a targeted attack in Tafelberg Street, Bonnie Brae, Kraaifontein.
The victim was found in a pool of blood with serious stab wounds to the head, face and arms when Titanium Securitas Crime Prevention Unit responded to the scene on Thursday evening.
According to Titanium Securitas Kobus Kotze, the victim had been handcuffed by his attackers. “The neighbourhood watch alerted us after residents heard the commotion and contacted us. Medical assistance was rendered on the spot before the victim was transported to hospital for further treatment,” says Kotze.
According to an informed source, the attack is believed to be linked to the victim’s involvement in a pending court case.
Acting on information obtained at the scene, Titanium units immediately launched a search and arrested the first suspect in Goliath Park, an area known as the “Vlak” in Kraaifontein. He was handed over to Kraaifontein police.
The net closed further on Friday evening when, during routine patrols at 19:50, Titanium members spotted a second suspect sitting inside a white Suzuki hatchback parked outside a residence in Brackenfell. He was arrested on the spot. Information gathered during that arrest led officers to a third suspect at a separate residence in Kraaifontein, who was also taken into custody.
