ENS and ProBono.Org are hosting a free legal education series this month, giving members of the public a chance to learn about their legal rights.

The workshops will run on four consecutive Thursday mornings, 10:00-12:00, at ENS’s offices in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. Attendance is free, but spaces are limited.

The series is designed to share general legal information, not advice on specific cases.

What the sessions cover

Four different areas of law will be presented by practitioners from ENS and ProBono.Org:

  • Session 2 | 14 May 2026 — Domestic violence, parental rights and maintenance

This session covers parental rights and responsibilities, maintenance, and includes an overview of the Domestic Violence Court, the Children’s Court and the Maintenance Court.

  • Session 3 | 21 May 2026 — The criminal process

Attendees will receive a broad overview of how criminal proceedings work, from start to finish.

  • Session 4 | 28 May 2026 — Eviction: rights of tenants and landlords

This session examines the eviction process and explains the rights of both tenants and landlords.

How to attend

The workshops will be held at 1 Naboom Street, Eastridge, Mitchells Plain.

Attendance is free. As spaces are limited people are encouraged to arrive early.
