The City of Cape Town took its Bringing You Home Tour to Uitsig where residents were able to get help with housing needs applications, updates on housing projects in the area, homeownership enquiries, rental housing, and other related services close to home.

The initiative aims to improve accessibility by taking Human Settlements services directly to the doorstep of residents across the metro.

“Some 36 title deeds were also handed over to homeowners. Our teams also completed repairs and maintenance at several public housing units in Uitsig, including Palm, Lemoen, and Mimosa courts. We will continue taking services into communities as our work progresses, and we encourage residents to speak to our teams when they are in the area. We thank all stakeholders for their support as we continue to work together,” said the Mayco member for human settlements, Carl Pophaim, who visited the area with ward councillor Beverley Van Reenen.

Beneficiaries of City housing projects are selected in accordance with the City’s Housing Allocation Policy and Housing Needs Register to ensure housing opportunities are made available in a fair and transparent manner that prevents queue jumping, and allocated to those who qualify for housing under South African legislation.
