Crystal meth, Mandrax, cocaine and dagga were swept off the streets in a coordinated blitz that landed four suspects behind bars across three Cape Town communities on Tuesday.
Members of Operation Prosper fanned out across Kraaifontein, Khayelitsha and Mfuleni on Tuesday afternoon, 6 October, searching four premises and confiscating a haul ranging from crystal meth and cocaine to Mandrax tablets and dagga.
In the first raid, members searched a house in Nellie Street, Kraaifontein, and found 60 small plastic packets containing crystal meth along with an undisclosed amount of cash. A 36-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs.

Hours later in Khayelitsha, members acting on a tip-off about illicit drug activity raided a premises in R-Block, Site B. There they seized three plastic bags of dagga, 16 dagga cigarettes and 46 small plastic packets of dagga. A 25-year-old man faces a charge of possession of dagga.

In Bardale, Mfuleni, members searched a premises in Ugqirha Street and confiscated ten Mandrax tablets found in the house. A 26-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs.
A fourth suspect, also 36, was nabbed in Vera Street, Scottsdene, Kraaifontein, after members searched the identified premises and uncovered mandrax tablets, cocaine and crystal meth hidden inside.

All four suspects are due to appear in the Blue Downs and Khayelitsha Magistrates’ courts once formally charged.
