The Mother City is once again preparing to host the 4th Africa International Youth Kung Fu Championship later this month.

The event, which is scheduled to take place in Goodwood, will see the defending champions and home team, South African Chin Woo Kung Fu, battle it out against eight African countries.

The home team is back from Hong Kong, where they swooped up nine gold, and four silver medals at last month’s championship held in China. The 21st Hong Kong International Wushu Championship was held from 21 to 23 March at the Ma On Shan Sports Centre.

Organisers say the team will feel confident going into the upcoming Africa International Youth Kung Fu Championship.

Shifu Muhammad Junaid “MJ Li” Chafeker, Legends of Kung Fu Champion and Hall of Fame Inductee, is the host of the event, which takes place on Saturday 25 to Sunday 26 April at the Fairbairn College’s Multi-purpose Hall in Goodwood.
