SASOLBURG – Two men aged 33 and 49 were arrested for possession of drugs in Zamdela on Friday 7 August after a community member informed police that a suspect, who had been arrested a week earlier, was allegedly continuing to sell drugs.

Members of the Welkom Anti-Gang Unit, deployed in the Fezile Dabi District, received the information at about 14:00 while on duty in the Zamdela policing precinct.

Police went to a house in the Angola Section of Zamdela where they found two men allegedly selling drugs through a fence at the back of the property.

The first suspect (49) was found in possession of 33 units of crystal methamphetamine, 31 units of rock drugs and cash allegedly hidden in the roof of the house.

The second suspect (33) was found in possession of 29 units of nyaope, one full Mandrax tablet, three half Mandrax tablets and cash.

Both suspects are expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of drugs.
