Two men shot dead at Beitbridge truck shop


MUSINA – Two men aged 51 and 32 were shot dead at a truck stop in Beitbridge, Musina, in Limpopo on Sunday night (13 September). According to a police statement the incident occurred at about 21:00

The police responded to a shooting report and found the two men laying next to a Toyota Wish with Zimbabwean registration plates. Both men had sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies and were declared dead at the scene, according to the police.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown and form part of the ongoing investigation, said the police.

Saps later recovered an unlicensed firearm with no serial number after the vehicle had been handed over to the wife of one of the deceased.

According to the police the firearm was found with a magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition, a separate case docket was opened in connection with the firearm
