DLUDLUMA, MPUMALANGA – A multidisciplinary law enforcement team successfully recovered a stolen Ford Ranger during an intelligence-driven operation in Dludluma Village on Saturday 27 June.
The operation, conducted at approximately 16:00, involved members of the Provincial Anti-Hijacking Task Team (Ehlanzeni), Tonga Visible Policing (Vispol), and the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
According to a press release by the South African Police Service, police officers acted on intelligence about a suspicious white Ford Ranger with KwaZulu-Natal registration plates that was reportedly seen driving around Dludluma Village.
The information was swiftly operationalised, and members launched a coordinated tracing operation along Dludluma Road with the support of the SANDF.
During the search, officers discovered the vehicle abandoned in nearby bushes with the keys still inside. A subsequent circulation check confirmed that the Ford Ranger had been reported stolen in a motor vehicle theft case registered at Villieria police in Pretoria.
The vehicle was recovered and will undergo further forensic processing as part of the investigation before being returned to its lawful owner.
Police said the successful recovery highlights the value of intelligence-led operations and coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies in combating vehicle-related crime.
