A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of popular radio presenter and DJ Warrick Stock, known as DJ Warras, who was shot dead outside a Johannesburg building in December last year.
Hlengiwe Buthelezi (40) was arrested at a homestead in the Ngcengeni area of Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, on 10 September following the issuing of a warrant for her arrest by the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that Buthelezi appeared in court today and has abandoned her right to apply for bail.
Conspiracy charges for alleged girlfriend
She will appear alongside co-accused Victor Mthethwa Majola (44) in the Gauteng Division of the High Court, Johannesburg, on 18 September for a pre-trial conference. Both face charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Prosecutors allege that Buthelezi, who is reportedly Majola’s girlfriend, forwarded information about Stock and his partner’s vehicle details to Majola to help carry out the killing.
Shot outside Johannesburg building
Stock was shot and killed on 16 December 2025 outside the Zambesi Building in the Johannesburg central business district. He was working in his capacity as operator of Imperium Ops, a private security company contracted to manage security for the building.
According to police reports, Stock was approached by three suspects after parking his vehicle. The suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene on foot. Stock was carrying an unused firearm at the time, and nothing was reported stolen from him.
Gunman sentenced to 25 years
A third accused, Joaquim Armando Pacula (25), a Mozambican national, has already pleaded guilty to the murder under Section 105A of the Criminal Procedure Act. He was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Johannesburg High Court in August.

During his plea agreement with the state, Pacula admitted that he was hired to kill Stock in a contract-style killing for a payment of R25 000. He also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and contravening the Immigration Act, with all sentences running concurrently.
Majola is alleged to be the mastermind behind the killing and has been denied bail. His case has been proceeding separately.
Police issued a warrant of arrest for Buthelezi in August and released an identikit to the public seeking information on her whereabouts before she was tracked down to the rural KwaZulu-Natal area.
NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said the authority welcomes the latest development in the case and remains committed to ensuring that all those implicated in serious crimes are held accountable through a fair and diligent prosecution process.
