TotalEnergies Petroport Piketberg on the N7 has been named South Africa’s best-rated highway stop on Google. The Western Cape has more stops in the top 10 than any other province.

These facts was recently revealed by playcasino.com and their data team in a statement released to the local press. The Piketberg stop averages 4.93 stars from 2 085 Google reviews, and more than 95% of its reviewers gave it five stars. Three more Western Cape stops made the national top 10: Engen Heidelberg 1 Stop on the N2 is second with 4.87 stars from 465 reviews, Engen Mossel Bay 1 Stop on the N2 is sixth with 4.41 stars from 493 reviews, and Engen Swartberg 1 Stop on the N1 at Beaufort West is seventh with 4.40 stars from 605 reviews.

The data experts at playcasino.com analysed Google ratings for 52 branded highway stops across South Africa, including Engen 1 Stops, Shell Ultra Cities, Petroport, Star Stop and Oasis plazas, each with at least 400 Google reviews.

Each stop was ranked by its average score, worked out from its full star breakdown. None of the eight lowest-rated stops is in the Western Cape. Nationally, Engen Vaal 1 Stop West on the N3, beside the Vaal River just across from Villiers, is the worst-rated highway stop, with 3.59 stars from 676 reviews.

The data experts at playcasino.com said: “Most families will stop at least once on a long holiday drive, and on the big routes like the N1 and the N3 the next stop can be a long way off. It’s worth checking the ratings of the stops along your route before you leave, instead of pulling in wherever the fuel light comes on.
