Libraries are sanctuaries of knowledge, learning and sharing of information. It provides credible and reliable sources for academic inquiry and research, which are very important to students. Students do not always have the transport available to travel to Unisa campuses and that is why Swartland Municipality, and Unisa has put a partnership agreement in place. “Unisa students can use our libraries as points of access to information and to receive their study material from Unisa. That is why Swartland Municipality and Unisa has a long standing agreement in place where Swartland Municipal Libraries serves as knowledge points for Unisa students. The partnership between Unisa and Swartland was renewed at a ceremony held at Malmesbury library on 10 May 2024. Libraries educate, empower and enrich lives.” At the signing of Memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Swartland Municipality and Unisa, was Unisa Library Services Executive Director Prof Mpho Ngoepe and the municipality’s Director Corporate Services Madelaine Terblanche.
