The PPC Riebeek Bergmarathon, scheduled to take place this year, has officially been cancelled and will not proceed in 2025.

According to the race office this decision was not made lightly. “After careful consideration the event will no longer take place. We understand how disappointing this news may be, especially for those of you who have already begun your training, made travel arrangements or were simply looking forward to another memorable race through the heart of the Riebeek Valley.

“PPC Riebeek Marathon has always been more than just a race; it’s a celebration of community, wellness, and endurance and we value your ongoing support and enthusiasm deeply.”

The race office confirmed in a statement sent out on Monday 30 June that they were already working behind the scenes to bring the marathon back in 2026 with renewed energy, improved planning, and an even better experience for all.

“We encourage you to keep a lookout on our official website and social media platforms for future updates and announcements regarding next year’s event and any alternative activities or initiatives that may take place in the interim.”

The entire organising team thanks every participant for their understanding and support. “We look forward to welcoming you back stronger than ever in the near future.”
