Kupenda Africa, a platform to emerging and established African artists based in Montagu, officially opened its gallery on 21 January. The aim is to showcase artists’ work and celebrate the arts and culture of the continent. Kupenda Africa’s current artworks originate in Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, and looks forward to collaborating with local and African artists from other countries in future. “We are passionate about the empowerment of youth and will continue with our efforts to give effect to our slogan of create, inspire, empower,” said Adele Faurie, Kupenda Africa gallery owner.
