With a live performance from The Misty Cliffs included among its treats to enjoy, come and join the fun at the inaugural McGregor Bubbly Festival on Saturday 25 March.
The Blend coffee shop and deli is bringing some of the top South African Cap Classique producers to this quaint rural village for the first of three wine events this year.
Benita Gouws, owner of The Blend and organiser of the event, says: “You can expect the best of the Langeberg region, namely Silverthorn Wines, Weltevrede Wines, Graham Beck, Lord’s Wines and Bemind Wyne from our very own garagiste in McGregor as well as some visitors from further afield.
“We are proud to welcome Genevieve from Botrivier, Haute Cabriere, Villiera as well as Black Elephant Vintners to our village and sharing magic with our visitors.
We will also have a variety of food stalls where you can really get a feel for village life, as you will be able to buy locally made sheep cheese, charcuterie, pate, spreads and homeground fresh breads, there will also be a sushi-and-oyster bar, amazing shwarmas as well as chocolates from South Africa’s very own Von Geusau.
“This truly is an amazing opportunity for locals to sample some of the best Cap Classiques around as well as our visitors to experience our small-town charm in a beautiful outdoor garden setting, and we cannot wait to welcome you!”
With plenty of shade and seating you can drift the afternoon away to the sounds of The Misty Cliffs. Formed in early 2020, they are a trio of experienced musicians from the Cape Town music scene, and they are as “tight as three coats of paint”. Featuring Nick Turner (guitar/vocals), Nick Catto (bass/vocals) and Matt Catto (drums/percussion/vocals), they have a wealth of experience performing for audiences all over the country.
The Misty Cliffs’ music is descriptive and emotive, with lyrics that make one both think and feel. Known for their expressive and catchy guitar licks, melodic and groovy bass, and “deep-in-the-pocket” drumming, the band are also known for their versatility and penchant for the unusual.
No two Misty Cliffs gigs are ever the same, but one thing’s for sure, you’re guaranteed a great time.
The event will be held from 14:00 to 18:00 and tickets are available at Quicket https://qkt.io/iMZW5q. We are selling event tickets only, or you can pre-book dinner at either The Fat Ladies Arms or the restaurant Tebaldi’s at Temenos in McGregor at an extra cost.
Your tickets include a branded glass that you can take home as well as a string of tasting tickets for the event.
The Blend is fully licensed so you are welcome to purchase your favourite to enjoy in the garden or load up your vehicle to take home with you.
Mark 1 July in your diary for our first Red and Sweet wines event!
